General Notes:
Lieut. ALFRED JAMES PICK, D.L.I., attached R.A.F., as Pilot in Salonika and Egypt, who was killed in a flying accident at Eastchurch, Kent, on December 2nd, aged 23, was the eldest son of Alfred and Ellen Pick, of Bedlington.

Also: Also there is a headstone of red granite bearing the following inscription: In / Loving memory / of / Alfred James Pick / Lieut. 3rd D.L.I. attd. R.A.F. / aged 23 years. / Accidentally killed while flying / at Eastchurch Kent on Dec. 2nd 1918 / On active service for 3½ years / with 1st K.O.Y.L.I. in France / and Macedonia and with R.A.F. / in Macedonia and Egypt. / Alfred Pick M.P.S. / Ellen Pick. The CWG states that Lieut. Pick is buried at Bedlington, so this is obviously his grave. Alfred and Ellen Pick were his parents who lived in Bedlington. They obviously declined a CWG headstone of Portland stone in favour of one of their own choice.
