.His godparents were Thomas Hill and Anna Tibbets.
Stephen was 5ft 6" tall...Ruddy face,brown hair and brown eyes.
On 08/06/1828...arrested at Birmingham for theft.
on 13/07/1829...Charged and found Guilty.He was sentenced to 14yrs transporation as a convict to Australia.He left England on the Convict ship Claudine on 19/08/1829 and landed in Australia on the 06/12/1829.he was assigned to work for farmer James Turnbull at Portland Head on the Hawksbury River...Later he married Ann Collins..they lived at Portland Head in the County of Cook 1841-2. On 04/04/1844 he received his certificate of freedom....he served his full 14 yrs.
His death certificate was never found and rumour has it that one of the Allwoods died of thirst and starvation in the Queensland outback,which leads to speculation that maybe this was Stephen....His wife remarried in 1855
He died in 1854 Queensland Australia. He married Ann Collins 25/12/1823 Dublin Ireland.
Ann was a Free Settler in Australia...she travelled with her brother Harry and mother who was sentenced to 7yrs for receiveing stolen butter..They were transported on the ship 'Margaret 1'..they arrived at Sydney cove on the 20/05/1837.married convict Stephen Allwood while he was serving his sentence...She was only 15 Ann gave her address as Windsor and Stephen gave his address as Hawkesbury River. The wittnesses were Jas Cassidy-the local School teacher and Church Warder Mary Carroll.Ann Married for the second time in 1855.they moved to the Gold Fields at Rocky River and her new husband Henry Baker 1826 Australia was intending to establish a hotel there
