Mary Smith

  Research Notes:

1881 census shows a George Travis married to Mary and free BMD shows a Mary Smith getting married in Jun 1872.
There doesn't seem to be a Newbold as printed on 1881 census but there is a Newbald and it could be that on the 1891 census.
C109291 has parents as Joseph and Ann and the christening date. Can't see any other possibility.
11/9/09 She is 35 on 1881 census and 44 on 1891 census. Newbald is listed under Howden for births records but they only records are:
Mary Smith Sep 1844 and Mary Elizabeth Smith Mar 1846. Neither of these records seem to stand out as being correct. Need to look at other census information.
1901 census (index view only) shows a Mary Travis aged 55 from Holme On Spalding Moor which is not far from Newbald or Howden. There is Mary Smith born Sep 1845 in Beverly but it seems Newbald might not have been registration district..If she was x5 at census time she needed to have been born Jun 85, March 86. Pat Johns says life was 1846-1902 but then he may have been rounding.
Added death year of 1902. Free BMD shows June quarter and Doncaster district age 56. Birth dates are estimates of best guess.
